If there is one thing that surprised us just this weekend, it would be the sheer amount of people asking for our weekly production update! The reason for the delay is simply because the person who writes all these overly long posts was finally on a short break. :p
Anyway, here is week 30's production update and we shipped almost zero sabers this week. Before you brandish your lightsabers at us or flip the table over from hearing this news, here is exactly what happened. Since we currently do not have any orders that are even remotely close to reaching the delivery deadline, and considering all outstanding orders are more or less placed around the same time, we have decided to handle these through batch production.
What exactly is batch production, you ask? Essentially instead of completing an order first before moving on to the next, we group all similar tasks from every order together and complete each in a single run. The end goal is to have these orders shipped even sooner, which we are sure is what you want.
For the past week, our focus was on 2 things only which were to fully assemble all Neo Saber chassis and hand finish all saber hilts. Yes, that beautiful smooth silver finish or weathering on our sabers are only achievable by hand. We are very pleased to inform that we have completed both tasks and as of today, have already begun installations.
Also in preparations for our reopening on the 31st of August, we have been seriously stocking up on components to ensure everything is on hand to build YOUR saber. This should make our deliver lead times shorter with the trade off being our small workshop is now a huge mess with boxes everywhere. Totally worth it still, if you ask us. 😉
Last but not least, a heads up for this week; we only have 3 working days but will do our best to get as many sabers shipped as possible. To repeat, we are aiming to ship most May 30th orders sooner than mid August. Thanks for reading and have a great week ahead! Take care and stay safe! ...
