Today is day 38 of Malaysia's Movement Control Order (MCO) which essentially is a lock down meant to stop the spread of COVID-19 locally. As the name suggests, majority of businesses are not allowed to operate for what was initially supposed to be just 2 weeks.
To add salt to the wound, last evening the government has announced a FURTHER extension of 2 weeks to the MCO which now places the end date officially at May 12th. That said, 'we have a bad feeling about this' and many are already expecting the entire of May to be locked down for a multitude of reasons.
Also, about 24 hours ago we received a notification that our application for the exemption to open during this MCO was REJECTED. Evidently, building lightsabers really is non-essential but on a more serious note, we are drafting an appeal letter as a last, desperate attempt.
Writing these updates is really hard especially knowing that we do have customers who have already been waiting for almost 5 months for their order. It truly is agonizing realizing this everyday and not being able to do anything about it. In normal times, we would have gladly camped at our workshop and work throughout weekends to expedite the build queue, but such an option is illegal right now.
On the customer service side, all messages & emails are usually replied within a working day. We just want to emphasize again that your orders are safe and will be worked on ASAP once this lock down is lifted. As mentioned before, production of components from other countries were not affected and as of now almost every component is ready, including the Reaver hilts.
For our store's re-opening, the new date is now 30th May 2020. We are very grateful that so many people are looking forward to placing an order with us but we MUST prioritize all those who have already ordered and been waiting for so long. That is the responsible thing to do and we are sure everyone would agree on that.
Parting words, we just want to once again thank everyone especially those who are waiting for their orders, for being so amazingly supportive and patient. It does make a huge difference to us. ...
