Close up of a Sith-inspired custom neopixel lightsaber features acid-etch of geometric patterns, silver emitter, and crimson blade

When the Reaver was created, it represented a distinct departure from everything else that we had done prior to it. Despite still being a unibody hilt, it was the first Sabertrio saber to be formed with various other smaller parts or rather in this case, claws, that added so much more details to the design.

Much like every other Black Friday 2022 RTS showcase, our aim was to bring this saber to the next level, and what better way then to acid etch it? When it comes to designing, we are strong believers that less is more, and this is particular applicable for this project as the Reaver was already quite intricate. We did not want to over do things.

Thus, drawing inspiration from the claws itself, we made the choice to ONLY use stripes and narrow rectangles throughout the entire etching design. However, by strategically placing and repeating these elements on the upper choke, switch area and main grip section of the Reaver, we have managed to create a unique motif that was truly Star Wars.

We wanted this saber to stand out and therefore in order to maximize the brushed silver surfaces, we went with a reverse etch process which made the stripes and narrow rectangles take on a deboss textured appearance. That said, we did the exact opposite on both ends of the Reaver; we plain etched the emitter and pommel which ultimately made the unique silver anodized claws contrast greatly against it. Truly, there is no other Reaver quite like this one.

This Reaver is part of the Sabertrio Black Friday RTS Event happening this November 25th. There will be 20 iterations of this in the Neo Proffie configuration.
