Close-up of Star Wars-inspired custom acid-etched neopixel lightsaber features serpent scale patterns, Triquetra symbols, and green blade

The lockdown continues but that won't stop us for featuring yet another custom acid etch master piece that we have previously worked on. In today's spotlight, we discover the design evolution of what was supposedly to be an Ouroboros saber. For those that are unfamiliar, the Ouroboros is an ancient symbol of a serpent that formed a ring with it eating its own tail; a representation of eternity, life and death.

The saber of choice is the Vahlken which is known for having the most exposed surfaces for acid etching. The facets of this hilt provides many flat areas that truly allows etching designs to shine. However, contrary to this project, there was only one section that formed a complete circumference needed for the symbol. After much debate, the overall concept evolved but the essence of the serpent remained prevalent throughout the entire hilt.

The emitter is dominated by eight serpents which when paired with a green blade, almost feels as though the fangs are dripping deadly venom. The scale like bodies of the serpent continues towards the choke which grants the whole upper section a very menacing yet intricate look.

Flanking the gold activation switch are the serpents' mandibles, complete with fangs that further establishes the overall theme. The scale like body continues across the facets while for the first time, we see the introduction of the Triquetra symbols framed within half hexagonal motives, that are etched all around the mid section of the saber. Much like the activation switch, the covertec wheel has been made gold and is equally flanked by serpent heads much like those found from the start. A variation of the hexagonal motives follows right below and to a bring complete balance to the etching designs, each block on the Vahlken's pommel has the Triquetra symbol once again.

For the sole exposed surface on the Vahlken that forms a complete circumference, etched in Aurebesh which is a subtle nod to Star Wars, is the phrase "Draw me with Reason. Sheathe me with Honour"; a variation from the motto found on every sword made by Viroleda, a city in Nilfgaard from The Witcher.

This truly is a unique saber and we hope its owner will forever cherish.
