The Dark Ninja

Through the annals of popular culture, from inked pages to animated sagas, emerges an iconic hero cloaked in darkness. He is the caped crusader, a media mainstay with stories that have permeated throughout a vast array of media. One of his more unique exploits has flung him through time and space, from that neo-gothic city to the ancient land of feudal Japan. It is there that he boldly stepped into the role of a prophesied hero, augmenting his suit and donning the classical armor of the samurai.
This fantastical tale is where we drew inspiration for our latest legendary saber. It was based upon the Mirah for its graceful silhouette that we felt, was a homage to the katana. Using the nocturnal hero’s revised armor as our muse, we started the design journey by adorning the emitter with that unmistakable bat symbol, which was stylized as if forged into plate armor. Next, both the switch segment and covertec band were adorned with an interweaving design that was reminiscent of the traditional kumihimo braiding used extensively in samurai armor.
The design was completed with the iconic emblem of the silent guardian that was placed on the opposite side of the covertec wheel. All these elements were ultimately immortalized into the metal of the hilt through a delicate acid etching process. From there, the entire saber was powder coated in a deep black that was representative of the Dark Knight, before having its protruding bands accented in a rich amber hue. Lastly, the main grip section was wrapped in a strip of genuine Nappa leather while a purple armored tassel was added as a final touch.
Much like the traditional kumihimo braids, this saber represents an interweaving of ancient and modern fables; the exploits of legendary samurai and stories of the night's greatest detective spun together, creating a design as timeless as the tales from which it draws breath. Striking fear into the hearts of enemies old and modern, this hilt shall forever be known as the “Kurai Shinobi”, the “Dark Ninja”.
This legendary saber will be built with the new Power Core chassis system in very limited quantities, and will be available for purchase on January 20th at 9am EST.
