The Hound of Hades
As we gear up for the next round of MASTERPIECE commissions this weekend (February 10th), we are thrilled to unveil another example of the many customization possibilities that our sabers have! Today's showcase features a unique lightsaber that has been imbued with the mystique powers of ancient legends, and forged in the cool glow of ethereal flame.
Central to the hilt's design theme is the dreaded three-headed hellhound Cerberus, and the Reaver, known for its triad of claws, was the obvious choice for encapsulating this underworld sentinel. With just a concept, our designers were fully entrusted with the creative freedom to bring the owner's vision to reality. We began at the upper choke by adorning it with alternating symbols—one of which is a tribute to the coin for the infamous ferryman. The switch band was then transformed into a predatory maw, rows of sharp teeth seemingly ready to devour the activation and auxiliary switches.
But the main focal point of this saber is undoubtedly the grip, where our interpretation of Cerberus emerges amidst a maelstrom of Hades' flames, all divinely framed by the celestial symbols of The Twelve. This hilt, predominantly coated in a glacial blue, creates a chilling backdrop for the underworld beast, while also offering a stark contrast to the deep black of the unetched surfaces, claws, and activation switch.
As legend and metal intertwine, this saber not only ensnares the essence of the hound of Hades, but also the imagination of its owner. The culmination of all these elements have resulted in an elegant weapon that bears the hallmark of a MASTERPIECE.
