The Lumina Sentinel

It is an indulgence to occasionally return to the simple things that made us fall in love with that galaxy far, far away. And while there are many memorable aspects to it that we could highlight, this saber pays homage to the thread that ties everything together – the galaxy's design concept.
When mastered, the visual dialect of a franchise can speak clearly through every detail. The shape of a ship’s hull, the layout of a control panel, the way armor plates are overlaid – elements like those visually interact in ways that create a magical sense of immersion. If done right, it can even make the world on the other side of the silver screen feel ever so real.
We wanted to capture a glimpse of that feeling, and so we began with the Skylar, recognizable for its streamlined body, as our canvas. The design journey began at the emitter which featured the logo of that venerable order framed within an ancient meandering star chart. Just below that, we meticulously decorated the switch band with geometrical armor plating motifs flanked by diagonal stripes, before repeating those elements on the lower half of the saber.
These intricacies were carefully acid-etched into the brushed metal, where we gave the majority of this hilt an industrial metallic powder coating to mimic a durasteel facade. We then finished the hues with brass accents just above the grip and at the bottom of the pommel, while accenting this saber with a gold activation switch and a brass Covertec wheel. Together, these elements form our tribute to the technical side of that galaxy’s visual dictionary.
In many ways, we imagine this saber as the weapon of a noble guardian – someone who wields the light to protect the rich tapestry of that galaxy’s aesthetic language, preserving the elements that have since defined its universe for generations. That is why we have dubbed this piece the “Lumina Sentinel”. It will be available in the Sabertrio October RTS Drop happening THIS SATURDAY, October 12th, at 9am EDT.
