The Neo Reaver Obsidian Dark Edition

The Obsidian finish we introduced last month was a striking new addition to the lineup. By uniting two opposing qualities — pristine and weathered — it achieved something unexpected, yet surprisingly beautiful. And for this month, we’re bringing that same finish to the Sabertrio Reaver.

By nature, the Reaver was designed to exude aggression. Yet over the years, we’ve crafted many Legendary pieces that resonated with the lighter side of the Force. In a way, that reflects the very same duality at the heart of the Obsidian finish — making the Reaver an especially fitting choice for it.

To fully bring out the contrast of this finish, we chose to accent several parts of the hilt in a brilliant mirror polish. The raised windowed band beneath the emitter was selected as a focal point, and this was balanced at the pommel’s end in a similar fashion. From there, the top surface of all nine rectangular segments of the main choke was polished in equal measure, followed by two of the three bands along the lower choke point. Together, these draw out the intricate details of the Reaver, resulting in a piece that feels every bit as elegant as it is aggressive.
