The Radiant Zenith

During the age of the High Republic, it was widely considered that the Jedi Order was at its height. Functioning as a distinctly separate entity from the Galactic Republic, it was said to be much more open, diverse, and accepting as compared to what it eventually became in the subsequent era.

While there were many factors that propelled the order to such prominence during the High Republic, it was arguably the enduring effects from a period of peace that ultimately allowed the Jedi Order to reach its peak. It was a time of flourishing prosperity, grand artistry, and exploration of new frontiers. It was an era of building, expanding, and perfecting of all things including the noble weapon wielded by the Jedi; the lightsaber.

In the second showcase for July, we embarked on a quest to craft a High Republic Jedi lightsaber that would encapsulate all the essence of this golden age. We felt that the Reaver, known for its ornate claws and intricate body details, was the very best of choice.

With the High Republic Crest serving as the anchor of the design, we started off by creating a motif that would be applied to every facet of the saber. By mirroring the crest vertically, we formed an intricate radial design which was then surrounded by geometrical motifs that were so prevalent in Jedi architecture and fashion of that era. The result is a unified network of patterns that once acid etched onto the saber, brings the intricacy of the Reaver to a whole new level.

From there, we powder coated the entire hilt in a rich bronze tint that was similar in hue to the robes worn by many members of the order. We then introduced a golden accent to the saber by fitting it with brass claw on both ends, and a brass Covertec wheel, before finishing things off with a gold activation switch.

To us, this legendary saber is a personification of the Jedi Order’s golden era where they were the true guardians of peace and the shining beacon of hope for the galaxy. For that, we have named this Reaver the ‘Radiant Zenith’. It will be built in BOTH Neo CFX and Neo Proffie configuration in very limited quantities, and will be available for purchase on July 22nd at 9am EDT.
