The Solas Adain

The rugged lands of the North are a harsh and unforgiving place where icy winds tear through the tundra & jagged rocky ranges stretch far beyond sight. It is here, especially during the winter months, that darkness reigns and the cold really bites. It is here that the sense of isolation is ever so profound, and survival is never guaranteed. But for all the challenges and hardship that the North gives, there will always be a few who would truly rise up and conquer it.
For it is said that “only in the depth of winter could one find an invincible summer from within”, and with these words in our hearts, we set out to craft a lightsaber that would truly embody the sheer resilience of the human spirit. The Aeryn, known for its iconic brass thin neck, was the hilt of choice.
We wanted to capture the essence of the North, and so we began by meticulously creating an intricate reverse acid etch design that was inspired from a combination of Celtic knotworks and elements of the Jedi galactic star chart. While the traditional symmetrical & continuous knots could be found at the switch section and lower grip area, we dramatically enlarged the hybrid motifs found at the other parts of the saber to break the monotony of the design.
From there, we powder coated the grenade grip section in a warm sateen gold hue that contrasted greatly against the cold textured metals surrounding it. This splash of color is then accentuated with the Aeryn’s brass neck, brass covertec wheel and gold activation switch. As a final touch, we subjected the entire hilt to a chemical process that tarnished all the exposed aluminum surfaces to achieve a seasoned appearance that reflected the harsh environments of the Northern lands.
This lightsaber is called the “Solas Adain”, which translates to “the light of the fiery one”. For wherever it shines, warmth and hope would always follow. This Legendary saber will be built in BOTH Neo CFX & Neo Proffie configurations, in limited quantities. It will be available for purchase this May the 4th at 9am EDT.
