Pod racer engine custom neopixel cyan lightsaber inspired by ancient culture of planet Zeffo with blue coat, dark leather wrap, Zeffo wind etchings

The planet Zeffo is notoriously difficult to settle due to its powerful electromagnetic winds that made much of its surface practically uninhabitable save for a few isolated pockets. The lack of refuge has often forced the wildlife to seek shelter within the subterranean caves where a crumbling network of catacombs are slowly being consumed by freezing conditions. It is in those caverns that there still might be significant remnants of the ancient race that once walked the fabled halls that are now buried deep beneath centuries of ice.

From endless chasms, deadly fauna, to merciless guardians, the path is wrought with danger so much so to ward anyone away from the artifact that lies entombed in frost at the end of the journey. We imagine that artifact to be a lightsaber and in today’s feature, we sought to bring that enigmatic relic to life.

Much like its counterpart, we chose the Vektra and began creating a rhythmic motif that resembles layers of ice sheets that the centuries have distorted. This pattern was then adorned onto the emitter, switch section and Covertec wheel band of the saber where it accentuated the unique geometrical symbol of what we believe to be a Zeffo ceremonial wind chime. Once acid etched, the rustic textured surfaces in combination with the layered motif around it was meant to signify the lost race’s profound understanding of what they called the ‘Life Wind’.

The hilt was then powder coated in an icy blue shade; a color that blends in with the frozen depths. From there, we wrapped the main grip section in a contrasting dark Nappa leather strap that not only completes the aesthetics of the saber, but also enhances the wielder’s grip. As a final touch we made both the Covertec wheel and activation switch in silver to accentuate its glacial appearance.

Like the Zeffo themselves, the true origins of this saber is lost to time. All we can do is hope that the ravaging winds do not erode that forgotten past. That is why this saber has been known as the “Zeffonian Blizzard”. It will be built in BOTH Neo CFX and Neo Proffie configuration in very limited quantities, and will be available for purchase on October 14th at 9am EDT.
