Thunderbolt Strike: Pikachu!

We’re kickstarting this week’s acid etch showcase with an electrifying twist. Through combining one of our most popular hilt design with arguably the most popular Pokémon, we have created the Pikachu Saber!

Let us dive straight into the details, shall we?

With the Senza hilt selected for this project, this has allowed our designers to create larger and more prominent design elements particularly on the emitter shrouds. The overall theme of the saber was initially just thunder and lightning, but through the discussion process it eventually evolved into featuring everyone's favorite yellow Pokémon.

We start things off boldly with Pikachu leaving a blazing trail of electricity on the Senza's prongs. The idea is to set the saber to have a brilliant yellow blade that glows through the slits and amplifies the trail. Choosing not to over complicate the etching designs but also to further enforce the theme, we find an instantly recognizable silhouette of Pikachu surrounding the auxiliary switch. On the opposite side is a gold activation switch with amber illumination which definitely compliments the overall concept of this saber.

And finally, right above the pommel section is a small portion of the Lichtenberg figure etched all around the area, bringing the beautiful effects of an electric discharge flowing down to the bottom part of this showcase. Now this is a saber you’d definitely want to catch, eh?
