Whispers of Koboh

On the frontiers of the chartered galaxy lies a rather insignificant planet named Koboh. With its grand vistas, massive gorges, and lush valleys, it was rumored to be as beautiful as it was bountiful in natural resources. This has made it a prime target for prospectors and pirates alike, though eventually both would be left disappointed for the rumors were apparently untrue. This has relegated Koboh to become a minor footnote in galactic history but in actual fact, things were not all as it seemed.

For those who possessed a keen eye and truly knew where to search, scattered deep within the surface of the planet lay evidence of an era now forgotten. Though initially appearing derelict, further explorations would reveal numerous vast complexes with majestic & intricate architectures. These were the Jedi Meditation Chambers and relics of the once High Republic era. In this month’s final, we were inspired to craft a lightsaber that shared its origins with these intriguing locales.

To mimic the geometrical motifs of these chambers, we selected the Vahlken as the hilt for this project. From there, we analyzed the many intricate wall carvings & features of the interiors, and then fused its design essence with elements from the Jedi star charts. The result was an ornate etching design that we applied throughout the entire hilt. On the opposite side of the covertec wheel was the emblem of the Jedi Order; a timeless icon that was often overlooked in favor of the High Republic crest during that time.

Given that this lightsaber was meant to be a relic, we subjected it to a chemical process that tarnished all its surfaces to give it an ancient appearance. This process has also darkened the textured etched areas which ultimately highlighted the many intricate details of the saber.

Though these chambers were eventually abandoned, and the planet itself largely forgotten, this lightsaber serves as proof that the Jedi were once here. Like a faint ghost from the past, it is now known as the "Whispers of Koboh".
