The Lore of Glacial Shard

Concealed in the Unknown Regions, Ilum stands as a stark and frozen evidence to the galaxy’s extremes. It is a place where every breath feels stolen and each step is a battle against the blistering winds. Within the frigid wasteland is one of the most sacred Jedi temples that paradoxically serves not as an escape from nature's fury, but rather a challenge to coexist with the planet's relentless chill. It is in these hallowed halls that Younglings begin the transformative rite of the Gathering, delving deep into icy caves to obtain their first kyber crystal while overcoming their greatest fears.

Inspired by this temple and the timeless traditions it embodies, we wanted to create a lightsaber that truly mirrors the essence of this site. We believe that the Skylar, known for its time-honored design, was the perfect hilt of choice for this project.

Every detail that has been acid etched on this saber tells a story; from the iconic symbol of the Jedi Order on the emitter to the emblem of Ashla adorning the switch area, each serves as a testament to the light side. Encapsulating all these is an ancient geometric motif that was taken directly from the temple walls while the main grip section features silhouettes of the monumental pillars found within the main chamber. With all the intricate designs in place, we completed the saber by applying a black chrome powder coat throughout the entire hilt to mimic how the temple seamlessly blends into the harsh environment of Ilum.

This saber speaks of resilience, tradition, and the undying spirit of the Jedi. It is a personification of the temple's frozen majesty and the triumphant claiming of one's kyber crystal. It represents the icy heart of Ilum and for that, it is known as the 'Glacial Shard'.
