The Lore of 龙之威 Dragon's Authority

Some designs just grab your attention the second you see them, and Lónglín Jiǎ - ancient dragon-scale armor - was one of them.

Intact pieces are incredibly rare, as the few that exist were excavated from ancient mausoleums. But the engineering is what stands out. Instead of relying on rigid, heavy plates to stop a hit, the armor used thousands of tiny, overlapping scales that slide against each other to disperse the force of an impact.

To the generals who wore it, the dragon scales were also a status symbol, meant to project authority and intimidate the enemy.

The Mirah was the right base to reimagine this ancient armor concept as a custom lightsaber. Built as a duelist's hilt, it's streamlined, light, and comfortable to wield, with a curved, slanted emitter and horizontal vents on both sides.

Across the main grip section, we acid-etched a uniform scale pattern, then added oriental and cloud motifs at the switch band, Covertec band, slanted emitter, and pommel. The scales also create friction points for a secure grip.

To capture the look of those excavated pieces, we applied a finish that mimics oxidation, then weathered it heavily. The treatment darkens the recesses of the metal and makes the individual scales pop.

As a final detail, we used the pommel's machined loop to attach a vibrant red tassel, a direct physical reference to the crimson tassels historically tied to the generals' swords. It's built to carry the same presence the original armor once projected. We call it 龙之威 (Lóng zhī wēi), the Dragon's Authority.
