The Lore of Reo Caloris

High among the granite peaks of the eastern highlands, bitter winds scour the plateaus. Beneath the heavy frost, the chilled earth lies in wait for the inevitable crack of sunlight and the warmth it brings forth.

For the locals know that “no frost can bite deep enough to steal the breath of the land.”

Holding fast to this old wisdom, we sought to craft a lightsaber that would embody that same strength of life, carrying within it the indomitable spirit of the weapons of yesteryear.

The design begins at the crown of the Skylar, where the slanted emitter is polished to a brilliant mirror finish, reminiscent of the white highland peaks. At its center, a pair of Celtic step knots ascend and converge elegantly toward the tip, while beneath the iconic emitter vents, an intricate rope motif draws inspiration from ancient ornamentation.

A pair of braided bands borders the switch section, where a separate geometric plait loops toward the main button. The activation switch itself is etched with a symbolic triquetra, all cradled within yet another intricate web of detailed knotwork.

At the grip, two bands of rivets reinforce the saber’s rugged character, flanking the same motif found at the emitter. Here, however, it is powder coated to evoke the rich hue of the red hills as the winter ice begins to thaw. Bringing the entire design together is an unbroken Celtic knot of brushed silver loops, set at the heart of the main grip section. Representing the perpetual passage from Winter into Spring, this iconic geometry is framed by the same rich powder coated hue, symbolizing the warmth of better times to come.

Finally, the entire weapon is meticulously weathered to bear the scars of countless changing seasons.

This lightsaber is named Reo Caloris, a name born from the opposing forces of Frost and Warmth. It was forged as both a weapon and a symbol, in reverence to the resilience of life. It honors the strength to wait through the freezing dark for the rising light, and to endure each frozen slumber until the first verdure emerges from the earth.
