The Lore of Twilight Ember

In the face of an oppressive Galactic Empire, it was all too common for anyone to feel insignificant, like ants praying that the Empire’s boot would not crush them. But this was not the first time that hopes had been whittled to powder – it was an occurrence that echoed repeatedly throughout history, its cold despondency felt even by those who lived through the Republic’s golden age.

Very little could withstand such a destructive force, much less two of them, but this ancient lightsaber was said to be just such a relic. The intricate latticework on its body suggests that it was likely forged back in the era when a certain grand space station was poised to be a brilliant beacon, a time when prophetic optimism was high. But the makers of this weapon were so focused on burning brighter that they did not feel the heat of a rising inferno until it was too late. The tragic fall that soon followed tarnished this hilt’s once illustrious shine, leaving only a testament to history’s unrelenting hand.

This time-worn piece was once an elegant Skylar that featured beautiful, curved pathways intertwining with symbols of the once idealistic order on its emitter and grip section. These lines continued between the chokes and, as though ominously foretelling this saber’s future, almost mournfully resembled closing curtains. These details were all immortalized into the metal through acid etching, and then accentuated with brass accents from powder coating and similarly hued accessories. But the original gleam has long been forgotten, and all that remains is a surface weathered by time and tragedy.

Indeed, history has passed over this relic like a torrential tide, and it is almost certain that all who once wielded this weapon are already gone. Surviving as it did through the era of the Empire, it would be expected that this artifact would carry immeasurable gloom. But somehow, it still managed to shine – a flickering memory of hope in the deep depths of darkness. And for that, it has since been known as the “Twilight Ember.”
