SAFETY

This covers important safety information and caretaking instructions that are crucial to ensuring the longest possible life for your saber. Please read through this section.

General Care

PROTECTING YOUR SABER'S ELECTRONICS

To maximize the life of your saber, we recommend using a blade plug to protect the connecting pins/LED in the emitter while the blade is removed for travel, storage or display.

SUNLIGHT DAMAGE

Avoid leaving your saber in direct sunlight as this might fade the color over time.

WATER DAMAGE

Our sabers are not water resistant. We advise caution when using the saber in conditions that may result in it getting wet as water can permanently damage the sensitive electronics.

This includes placing the saber hilt in snow. Since snow can get inside through the crevices, and the warmth of the active battery will likely melt it, it can result in water damage.

Dueling

PROTECTION & AWARENESS

When dueling, always wear the necessary protection gear, practice restraint, and be aware of your surroundings. Landing a hard hit on someone who is unprotected may result in serious injury.

BLADE GRADES

Always duel with blades of the same grade. Due to the difference in wall thickness, heavy grade blades may damage or even crack its mid grade counterpart.

If your blade cracks, stop dueling immediately. Further impacts could dislodge and launch very sharp shards.

Battery

BATTERY INFO

All Sabertrio Sabers contain sensitive electronics that are powered by a single rechargeable 18650 lithium-ion battery, with Neo & Stunt configurations using 3000 mAh & 2600 mAh respectively.

All Sabertrio Saber configurations are exclusively compatible with 18650 button top protected lithium-ion batteries. Additionally, all Neo CFX Saber configuration batteries require a max continuous discharge of 15A.

OVERHEATING

Do not enclose the charging setup in any space without adequate airflow as this may cause the battery to overheat and/or rupture.

CHARGING CABLE

While other high-quality cables will likely work, we recommend only using the provided smart charger to avoid accidental damage.

POLARITY WARNING

Triple-check the battery's polarity before inserting it to avoid accidentally damaging your saber's electronics.

Warning
Damage caused by incorrect battery installation is not covered by Sabertrio's warranty.

REPLACING THE BATTERY

Inserting the wrong battery type will likely not cause damage to your saber, but the blade will not illuminate properly.

If you need to purchase a replacement, contact us so we can ensure you get the right battery for your saber.

The microSD Card

BACKUP

We strongly recommend that you backup an unaltered copy of the microSD card’s contents locally.

Notice
In the event that the data on your saber's microSD card is lost/damaged, please contact us for a new digital copy.

EJECTING THE MICROSD CARD

When accessing the microSD card via a data carble or card reader, always properly eject it from your computer before physically disconnecting it to avoid accidental data corruption.

MICROSD CARD SLOT WARNING

The microSD card slot is not flush with the chassis in all configurations.

When reinserting, you will need to hold the sides of the card to guide it in. If you try forcing the microSD card in while resting flush on the chassis, the card might get wedged between the card slot & chassis, likely damaging both the board & SD card.

Power Core Chassis System

DUST CAPS

All Power Cores include 2 protective dust caps.

Please ensure you use them whenever the Power Core is removed from the hilt for recharging/transportation to protect the contacts and delicate speaker from damage.

KILLSWITCH WARNING

While transporting a Power Core outside of hilt, ensure that the killswitch is turned OFF.

The Power Core could accidentally activate while in your bag, and without proper airflow it could overheat and get damaged.

TRANSPORTING

We do not recommend tossing the Power Core in the same compartment you are using to carry other items. Even with the dust cap protecting both ends, if the Power Core is being jostled around and bumping against objects in your bag, it could still get damaged.

We strongly recommend placing the Power Core in its own dedicated pocket/holster, like the Saberhold Mini.

BATTERY SHORT WARNING

While the Power Core is removed from the hilt, we strongly recommend that you use the provided dust cap to cover the connector PCB.

If metal touches the connector PCB (like a key in your bag or the surface of a metal table) and the killswitch is ON, it will short the Power Core's soundboard.

Warning
If the Power Core is shorted for an extended period of time, the battery could overheat or even explode in extreme circumstances.
AUDIO CHIP WARNING

Do not keep the Audio Chip unscrewed for long periods of time as that could damage the PCB.

The Audio Chip is engineered to apply opposing pressure to the PCB against the tension created by the battery. If the Audio Chip is left unscrewed for too long, the unopposed outward pressure exerted by the battery could bend and eventually damage the PCB.

REPLACING THE AUDIO CHIP

When screwing in the Audio Chip, ensure that it is properly aligned with the Power Core’s threads.

Screwing in the speaker improperly or forcing it in will very likely damage the PCB's pogo pins that connect the soundboard to the speaker, and could cause the speaker to stop working entirely.

If the PCB's pogo pins have become damaged or your Audio Chip has stopped working, please contact Customer Service.

ProffieBoard

CABLE WARNING

We strongly recommend you use the USB data cable that came with your Sabertrio Neo Proffie Saber when connecting its soundboard to your computer.

If you are using a Legacy Chassis and need to use a different micro USB cable then the one provided with your saber, please ensure that it is a data cable and not a charging-only.

You could potentionally damage your soundboard if you connect to a power supply with the wrong cable type.

Cotact us if you need a new cable.

Stunt Saber

EYE DAMAGE

The Stunt Saber uses an in-hilt illumination style with Cree XP-E2 LEDs; an extremely bright CLASS 2 laser.

Never look directly at the LED when it is illuminated as doing so could result in permanent eye damage.

If you intend to frequently use your Stunt Saber without a blade, we strongly recommend purchasing a blade plug which acts as a light diffuser while installed.

View 'Blades & Blade Plugs' to learn more

Warning
While a blade plug will help diffuse the light, some designs will allow more light through then others. So even with a blade plug inserted, never look directly into the emitter while the Stunt Saber is switched on.
